Dinner and Wine Tasting Night
Our Dinner and Wine Tasting on a Wednesday Night is very special for wine lovers and also their friends.
There are a number of Vineyards with small produce that need exposure and we wine lovers do enjoy sampling well cared and proudly produced wines.
The programme for the night:
Arrival at 7pm
The Bar will be open for the 1st Half an hour - mainly for those who cannot wait to start tasting the wines offered for the night.
Introduction at 7:30pm
The introduction and welcome will be at most 5 minutes and it will include noting the food on the Special Buffet for the Night as well as the wines that will complement each of the 20 courses or more that can be enjoyed.
In most Dinner and Wine Tasting Nights we will have one or more from the featured Vineyard that will personally answer questions in relation to their wine as well as provide information peculiar to their vineyard.
Lovegrove wines are on for tasting on the 8th of September.
We also feature wines from a well respected Liquor Store in Melbourne Nillumbik Cellars from Diamond Creek that will be providing a selection of wines for tasting.
Each Table will have Order Forms from both Lovegrove and Nullimbik that can be filled in if anyone is interested in enjoying the wine at home.
Food and wine tasting starts at 7:35pm with
Lights on the Buffet area and wines poured into tasting glasses.
The basic procedure for greater satisfaction is to go to the wine area and take the wine sample that you feel will complement the food that you will take from the buffet area. For example you may wish to start with some prawns and oysters so perhaps a Chardonnay or other white variety may be your 1st of many selections from the wine Tasting area. We do not want you to over drink so the wine tasting glasses will not be full.
If you are deep in conversation and you do not want to leave the table you can ask your drink waitress to get your next glass of wine to taste.
The Carvery/Smorgasbord will include Seafood, Pasta, Soups,cold meats,salads,10 homemade sweets and cheese and greens. We anticipate you will go up to the food area at least 10 times if not more.We anticipate that 12 tasting wine glasses may not be more than 4 normal wine glasses in total so we would presume that those that need to drive home will be below .05.
Coffee and Tea will be available Table service .
We anticipate that most will be finished with Food and Wine by 10pm with formal finish 11pm.
Order Forms for wine should be handed in by 10pm.
